How is the earth impacted if you don't recycle? If you don't recycle you are contributing to global warming. As you can see in the picture this woman is looking through the dump. The more trash that we produce the more space we are taking up. If you want to help stop global warming then recycle.
This is a great explaination of why we should recycle and I also love the picture you used! It truely captures the reality of whats goin on in our world.

do you know what happens to the trash at a dump? does it literally sit there over the years?
ReplyDeleteSadly to say our trash goes a landfill ... I believe the one in LA is among the biggest ... And yes it pretty much just sits there ... Think of a landfill like lasagna!! There's a synthetic liner that covers the ground soil from runoff- mainly protecting the water... then there's a huge layer of trash then they dump soil ontop of the trash to keep the trash in place and with hold fumes. Then the process starts over. Layer upon layer like lasagna.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately landfills are necessary but we as consumerS and people of this planet can minimize our consumption and recycle and reuse things.
Side note- America is the biggest waster! Even with a population almost one third that of China, the US has many times the per-capita resources consumption! ITS LUDACRIS! We all have to change the way we think!

ReplyDeleteI think this is a very eye opening picture! Recycling is such a simple task that most still do not seem to do. Just like you said when people do not recycle it really impacts the earth in so many ways. Global warming is impacting us more then a lot of people realize and I think it's great you all are bringing awareness to this topic!!
